Meet the Teacher
Hello! My name is Jenna Harris, commonly referred to as Coach Harris by many of the students. I am the eighth grade U.S. History teacher, as well as a coach at both the middle school and high school. I coach JV volleyball, and junior high basketball and track.
I am a proud graduate of Tarleton State University. Bleed purple! I have my bachelors degree in Kinesiology with an certificate in education. I have a true passion for teaching--I truly feel it is what I am called to do. Not only do I enjoy teaching the students important information such as our nation's history, but I also enjoy teaching them important skills they can use throughout their lifetime. I aim to be a positive influence and role model in each student's life, and I look forward to a great year with each class.
I am also a proud graduate of Eastland High School. My husband and I were both Mavericks. We have enjoyed coming back to our roots. We have a beautiful 7 month old daughter, and we love watching her grow and learn. We also have two dogs that we treat as children--a bassett hound and yorkshire terrier.
Again, I am excited for this school year, and I cannot wait to teach the students about the important and interesting happenings in our nation's history. I look forward to challenging them to think critically and become involved in their own learning of the material. I thank you for your involvement in your child's life, and for your willingness to search this site for the class information. I hope this site is useful and beneficial for you and your child.
My conference period is 3rd period. If you ever want/need to meet or talk with me during this time, please email me at [email protected] or call the school office and leave a message.
